CCI Europe is expanding its technical base in Atlanta, US. CCI Europe develops an unparalleled suite of software for the newspaper industry. Our NewsGate editorial and AdDesk advertising solutions are unparallel in the industry. We have immediate positions open for Technical Specialists (TS). We offer a challenging position where you will be part of a focused and technically competent Technology team that prides itself on providing excellent service to our clients. We are about 30 people in CCI US who primarily work with US customers. We work in a busy, informal environment with great colleagues.
Your primary tasks will be:
Consulting: The TS will assist in add-on sales by consulting with customers on possible enhancements of current implementation
Technical project lead: The TS, as part of a project team, is responsible for all technical aspects of implementing the CCI system into a customer organization. Project work involves a large degree of travel both domestic and international.
Customer Service: Provide technical support via phone and e-mail to our customers. The TS is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and documenting complex computer systems, software issues and product related questions.
Systems training: The TS will conduct onsite customer training in systems maintenance, application troubleshooting, integration setups and CCI System configuration.
Hotline: The TS will be on-call for production critical issues for all our customers including Europe and the Pacific.

You have a passion for problem solving which includes reading/diagnosing log files and source code.
You have a desire and flexibility to travel within a moment’s notice and for extended periods
You have strong technical analysis and troubleshooting skills, including research of software application errors.
You have understanding of database applications with operating system interactions and client-server based systems
You have ability to learn new concepts quickly.
You have proven customer service skills for supporting both internal and external customers.
You have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Qualifications
Working knowledge of UNIX operating system (configuration and package install) – variants Solaris/AIX/Linux.
Experience interpreting source code (C++ or Java) – programming skills not required but will be highly beneficial.
Proven shell scripting experience in csh, ksh, sh or bash.
Working knowledge of Windows (2000, XP) and Apple Macintosh based systems.
Experience in supporting systems using relational databases and understanding of SQL.
Must be able to manage and prioritize an open support task queue.
Technical degree within Computer Science or related field.
At least 3+ years experience working with servers and applications in larger system environments
You should expect to travel 50-130 days a year.
You must be able to speak and write English at a high level. If you speak German or Spanish, this would be a major advantage.
