Adresseavisen in Norway to install CCI NewsGate
24-hour news provider selects NewsGate for web, print, radio and TV
CCI Europe announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Adresseavisen, a leading provider of news and advertising in Mid-Norway, to install a CCI NewsGate system in 2008. Adresseavisen's NewsGate system will supersede its current CCI NewsDesk System, used since 1998. The new NewsGate system will have 120 concurrent users. "We have had a thorough look at different cross media editorial systems, and found NewsGate to be ahead of the competition with respect to efficiency and convergence between the different media," said Asle Vestvik, CIO, Adresseavisen. "We have had the current CCI editorial system for 10 years and we are happy to find that CCI is still the leading vendor. We are convinced that the NewsGate system will serve us well in the rapidly changing media landscape in the coming years."

CCI Europe has announced its latest release of CCI NewsGate – NewsGate 2.2 – which delivers functionality for the newsroom to successfully respond to the latest demands in news content. With NewsGate 2.2, a newsroom can easily incorporate user-generated content such as customer comments, event information, etc. A CCI customer with a consolidated data center can plan, manage and proactively share content across all its newsrooms. Open Web Services allow a customer to set up and manage, for example, complete freelancer workflow. CCI NewsGate 2.2 also has extended the Adobe InDesign/InCopy based pagination workflow functionality. "CCI NewsGate delivers market oriented functionality that gives our customers competitive advantages," said Torben Johannesen, Executive Vice President - Development. "We are expanding our embedded CCI DigitalPublishing module and we can make any content – published or not – available in a 'content goldmine' storage ready for integration with our customer's web portal. Only available in German Matthias Fischer (42) ist neuer Sales Direktor von CCI Europe für Deutschland, Österreich und die Schweiz. Mit seiner Person verstärkt der dänische Anbieter für Verlagssoftware die Aktivitäten auf dem deutschsprachigen Markt. Der Informatiker (B.Sc.) wird das Neugeschäft vorantreiben, die bestehenden CCI-Kunden betreuen sowie die Niederlassung des Unternehmens in Hamburg ausbauen. Fischer berichtet direkt an den CEO von CCI, Dan Korsgaard. Er kommt von der ppi Media GmbH, wo er neun Jahre tätig war, zuletzt als stellvertretender Bereichsleiter Vertrieb.

The Toronto Star – Canada´s largest daily newspaper – to implement Canada´s first CCI NewsGate system
Implementation will provide cross-media publishing system and collaborative newsrooms for 4 dailies, 16 weeklies and up to 600 users
Toronto Star Newspapers Limited (TSNL), on behalf of itself and Metroland Media Group Ltd. (Metroland), has signed an agreement with CCI Europe to implement the CCI NewsGate cross-media publishing system. The Toronto Star, Canada's largest daily newspaper, intends to replace its current CCI NewsDesk system with CCI NewsGate. The Hamilton Spectator, Guelph Mercury, Waterloo Region Record and currently 16 weeklies from the Metroland West division of Metroland also plan to implement the CCI NewsGate system. Under the agreement, TSNL also has an option to add up to 160 users at the Metroland community newspapers. “CCI NewsGate's collaborative work environment, and multi media publishing capabilities, will ensure that we continue to deliver innovative news products to our customers," said Jagoda Pike, Publisher of the Toronto Star and President, Star Media Group. “CCI has a strong vision, and CCI NewsGate embodies that vision." The system will be installed in Toronto with a disaster recovery site in Hamilton. CCI will assist in the initial installation of the CCI NewsGate System and TSNL and Metroland will implement the rollout, currently planned for 2009.
